Key principles of the program include the following:

  • It’s free! We also provide refreshments, round-trip MetroCards and incentives to attend our parenting groups. There are lots of other bonuses as well!
  • It works! You get state-of-the-art services from expert clinicians who are excited to help support your journey as a parent.

Frequently Asked Questions

The reason why not everyone is able to receive the services described above is because this is part of a study.

It is a possibility that you may not be part of the group that receives the additional services, since that is decided at random (like by the flip of a coin). However, you can still seek out any services (including going to parenting groups) on your own at any point.

We hope you will come back to fill out the questionnaires six months later, because the work we do here will help us learn more about how we can best support mothers-to-be and new moms. Our hope is that learning more about this can allow us to provide this service to all moms and moms-to-be in the future.

They are fun! You will learn about your baby's development and needs, how to connect with your baby as well as others in your life, how to get support and how to take care of yourself during this exciting but exhausting time.

We have groups in lots of locations throughout Montefiore. We would be happy to let you know our upcoming schedule once you enroll.
