RHIO

All participating and newly credentialed providers in the IPA are required to join a Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO). RHIOs are data hubs that electronically collect healthcare information pursuant to healthcare information exchange regulations. Participation with a RHIO enables providers to access healthcare information across the care continuum which can result in better care for patients, improved communication, regulatory compliance, and enhanced workflows.

Benefits to joining a RHIO include:

  • Secure access to patients’ clinical records contained within the RHIO and SHIN-NY
  • Data Availability Notification Services
  • Data Quality Management
  • Direct Secure Messaging
  • eReferral Management
